Kela Jones exudes passion and love through her work, community and life. Kela joined MMI as its first, full-time staff person solely devoted to fundraising in February of 2018.
Kela loaned her talents to Miami while serving as the community relations manager for Homestead-Miami Speedway home of NASCAR’s Championship Track. She has served the Memphis community in a variety of development and community relation roles for BRIDGES, Peer Power Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis, Memphis Urban League and the Memphis Redbirds. She is a proud 2000 graduate of Craigmont High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Memphis. She is a 2013 New Tri-State Defender Women of Excellence honoree, a 2014 University of Memphis Inspiring Woman, and a 2015 Greater Memphis Chamber Young Memphian.
Kela’s zest for empowering and changing the lives of Memphis’ citizens and youth is reflected in her community service efforts, past and present. Kela currently volunteers and is a member of the Junior League of Memphis, serves on the boards of Angel Street, JC Runyon Foundation and is a member of the advisory council for Women in Leadership and Philanthropy at the University of Memphis.
