Data, Evaluation, and Research Manager
Andy Collins is a native of Romania. At The University of Bucharest, she studied Biochemistry and earned a BS and MS degree. She first came to the US as a visiting scientist at the University of Tennessee. Her experience at UT motivated her to pursue a Master degree in Nutrition at UT. It was at UT where Andy first studied Public Health. She was impressed by the breath of topics on human behavior and health, policies and practices, influences that shape the distribution of social determinants of health policies and practices, as well as social equity and social justice. This exposure to Public Health laid the foundation for Andy to pursue a PhD in Public Health at the University of Memphis. During her graduate years at the University of Memphis, Andy was part of a team that developed and disseminated Memphis Fit Kids, a web-based tool for parents to assess their child’s obesity risk. She wrote manuscripts and grants, recommended improvements of program evaluation activities, and managed and analyzed qualitative and quantitative data.
At Memphis Music Initiative, Andy serves as the Data Analyst and Researcher. Her role is to streamline data collection and evaluation processes to increase the effectiveness of Memphis Music Initiative’s programs and strategies.
