Brenda Ford is a Memphis native and Manager of Human Resources at Memphis Music Initiative. She is a highly experienced human resources (HR) practitioner with 25 years of broad experience that includes 20 years of direct nonprofit work gained at Inroads Memphis, Western Policy Center, Folk Alliance, City of Memphis, and the Achievement School District. Brenda serves as an HR consultant to small organizations and is a licensed insurance agent.
Brenda obtained her Associate of Science degree in General Studies from Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) in Rockville, Maryland, and her Master of Science degree in Leadership from Belhaven University in Memphis, Tennessee. Brenda earned a certification in Human Resource Management from UMGG and certifications in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Ethical Leadership from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. She is also certified by the Society of Human Resources (SHRM) as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP); by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); and by the International Public Management Association as a Senior Certified Professional (IPMA-SCP), where she serves on the IPMA Certification Advisory Board.
Brenda enjoys travel, music, and spending quality time with her family.
