MMI Works
Applications for the 2023 MMI Works summer program are CLosed.
MMI Works creates paid summer opportunities for youth to work at music and arts organizations and offers equitable access to career training and professional/personal development. We employed 46 youth in 18 organizations in 2017, totaling over 21,000 hours of work and professional development for youth since our 2016 launch. Our professional/personal development series covers activities that teach youth life skills and critical problem solving and empowers them to set big goals, design a plan and chart a course for where they want to be.
Despite its strong cultural assets, Memphis is facing a difficult socio-economic climate and many challenges serve as critical barriers to youth success. Creating and fostering high-quality youth development opportunities that exist after-school, on weekends, and during the summer is critical for the success of Memphis youth.
Support for the MMI Works program is provided in part by Cerity Partners Foundation, Cummins, Inc., NBA Foundation, Target Circle, The Hershey Company, and The Lewis Prize Foundation.
